Valentine or color SVG challenge

Good evening crafters, tonight I finished a simple card for my oldest grandson for Valentines day. I used the challenge over at SOC SVG file group

Create a Valentine's Day card, layout, or project using an SVG file.  If you don't want to make it for Valentine's Day then create something else using an SVG file but include at least one of the colors red, pink, black, or white in your project.   That's it.  Easy peasy!

I used my Zing to cut this little devil and I got the file from the Make the cut gallery. Since I am still learning the machine I didn't adjust the dial for that red paper it is very thin and I cut to deep around one of his ears but my grandson will love it. I cut the heart with one of my spellbinders and ran it through a heart folder and I used a $1 stamp from Wal Marts haul last yr. I am still learning but it will get better Oh and I even managed to cut out hubby's superman emblem's with vinyl last night. I think I am ready to work on grandson tee shirts again so look out for some shirts. I also ordered some bling for my sister who wants some school shirts blinged out so I need to get busy and watch some video's and learn how again since I haven't done it in a long while.

Make it meaningful 2014

Challenge #2 - Jan 16 - What is your first memory as a child?  Post your creation to the gallery by Jan 31.

Remember I stated I was going to use this ugly paper stack up from CTMH that was in my stash so it isn't going to change for this album. I was planning on making the cover tonight but it doesn't look like it is going to happen.

My first memory would be that I loved watering my grand mother's flower bed unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her flower bed must make a mental note to myself and ask my Aunt.

My album is a 9x9. I even manage to pull out some flower stamps from Stampin up that is maybe 5 yrs old and some dazzling diamond.
I also decided it was time to pull out the embroidery machine. I have started with my son's basketball ball coaches - Magic

I friend had asked me to do some shirt collars and cuffs it is a shame that I got to the last two and discovered black bobbin it made the biggest difference.
Of course my husband stated since I left him out and was doing something for everyone else he wanted his shirts done so I did a test cut on a towel he likes it but asked for superman instead since all his co workers call him that lol

Layouts

I am so behind on my layouts so I am following along with Tiara over at iclassygirl from desk to dawn in just 5 mins. I love that you can keep things so simple and get the task done. (Note to self to remember this when I have so many pictures to scrap lol)

Let’s start cutting.  You’ve got 5 minutes. Go!
  • Cut 1, 11 x 5 piece.
  • Cut 1,11 x 1.5 strip.
  • Cut 1, 11 x .75 inch strip.
  • Trim photos.
This is my grandson Kai waving to my sister (not really but since my sister lives in another state she says he is waving to her lol) I used my Zing to cut the title. Simple right but Make the cut is that simple for titles really love that and he hand is from a ding cut I cut the night before while playing on the zing.
I manage to pull out some basic grey embellishments that where in my stash and use it to add Kai name and date. The paper is all paper that has been in my stash from when I worked at Joanns so glad I used it. One less paper in my stash so many more to go lol
This layout I used the Zing again to cut the title but this was a svg cut that was on my computer and I don't know where it came from because I have svg files from my scal software that I may have used once or twice never did pick that one up. The basketball players is also from that file. I used some of those project life cards from Target to do my journaling on. The Life metal embellishment was from Michaels back in the day all and all I am having a blast just playing with my toy. I also embroidery two towels for his coaches last night so I am happy to finally use my toys.

Another Birthday Card

I got this card off to my DIL in time but I got busy and forgot to post it to my blog. I used a sketch from Deconstructed Sketch Blog  to make this card. I used an old Teresa Collins 6x6 pad Sweet Afternoon to complete this card and some dollar pearls.
The stamps are from Stamps of Life Pinwheels2stamp

Tonight I played along with the ladies at Scraps of Color for Friday Night Challenge. Our host tonight was Mazella and this were her challenges tonight

Challenge #1: Find your favorite quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Type and prepare it to fit on a card front as an inspirational card. (You choose the size of the card). You can only use Black and White Paper. Embellish the card with bring or pearls.

Challenge #2: Make a birthday card for a female using lots of flowers. Flowers can be hand-made, stickers, die cuts, etc. Add ribbon or a bow to enhance the front.

Most of you know I am not a flower girl so I am not feeling this card but I did complete the challenge now I must get to bed for my son has two basketball games tomorrow

Happy Birthday Kendra

Today is my oldest daughter Kendra's birthday....hard to believe my child is 27 yrs old today. Well I started out with this simple card. I pulled out my old stamp set from CTMH that I haven't used probably in 2 yrs. I stamped the image then scanned it in and set it to my silhouette so I could get a shadow around it. I used My minds eye paper and some what to scrap bling to finish it off.
I pulled out my ultimate guide to the perfect word book and used this sentiment for the inside of the card.

If things get better with age, then you are approaching Magnificent :)

Happy birthday Kendra

Baby Blankets

Hello crafters, another quick project I went to Hobby Lobby to get some material to make the baby boys a blanket even though we are having a nice week lol. I can kick myself for buying to much fabric and having all this extra laying around but I looked at a pattern and asked for way to much I guess I need to go to sewing 101 anyway I even bought some satin to trim the sides of the blanket but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to add it on so I ended up just serging the edges and my daughters love them

I added a fleece blanket on the back side and man this material is so soft so with the extra I will make some throw pillows
Sad thing is this is the first time I have been back up on this machine in months just collecting dust.....

Any way here is a picture of me and my little men
I have a total of six grand kids now 3 boys and 3 girls look out for my basketball team lol

iclassy girl pajama party

Friday night was the first Friday of the year for the pajama party over at iclassy girl blog. I just love to log in and which and participate with the ladies. I didn't get to do my layout during the night since I was still working but I did log in and read the chat and watched Tiare make her beautiful layout.

This is my take on the sketch
You know I had to pull out my friend the Cameo to cut the pregnant girl and the title for this page. Not sure why I added the pink paper since my daughter had a boy but oh well it is complete and it is my first Layout for the year. I am hoping to do way more since I have a ton of pictures laying around.

Happy Birthday Treva

Last night I went on SOC to see what this week challenge was for  sistah/Brotha challenge

Week 2: It's All in the "Hattitude!"
January 15th is National Hat Day, so the challenge is to create cards, scrapbook/art journaling pages, or mixed media projects featuring a hat! It can be on a digital image, embellishments, in a photo(s) from an event (graduation, weddings, sports, or of someone who loves wearing hats). You're all "tops" in my book (a little hat humor, lol), so I hope you'll come out and share a little flair and "hattitude" this week!

So once again my friend Cameo didn't fail me. I just love this silhouette image. I used a spellbinder frame to frame her out and went in my stash to find this metal rose to top her hat so recollection flowers and bling. I used that corrugated card and some Tim Holtz paint to edge the sides and studio calico white spray to finish off the edges I really love how this card came out

hen for the inside I used CTMH stamps, hope my sis enjoys the card. Happy Birthday Treva love you
