Happy Birthday Shanta

Today is my crafty buddy Shanta's Birthday. It is funny she had made me a beautiful birthday and I received it on my birthday Thursday and I made her a Flip Box Mini and she received it today on her birthday which we normal are late on sending out our card to each other lol.

I followed Margaret tutorial on the Flip Box Mini and this is what I came up with for Shanta's mini
I used Prima for the cover and Shanta's favorite Webster Pages for the inside. This mini isn't made for embellishments so I didn't add much or it would not close and I pushed it with the pearls

Tonight I also did a couple of more towels. I got a big order in for my Alma Mata Wewoka High. So you will see several of these designs for my family and friends in Wewoka.

Creating the Crafty Life challenge

Tonight I completed my submission for Creating the Crafty Life sketch challenge

And here is what I came up with

The background paper is from Hobby Lobby Paper Studio and the brown swirl paper and gray paper is Studio Calico  ~ Classic Calico. I used my fiskar punch to cut the strip on the side. The little flowers are recollections from Micheal's and the dollie is from a garage sale from a few yrs back. The picture is of my high school girl friends and I when we went on our trip back in June of this yr. I just love the picture a circle of friends....

Pfaff creative 4.0

Okay I was on a roll tonight so now I am tired but this is what I completed tonight

Pfaff embroidery

Today I decided that I was going to work on the 4D software for the Pfaff Creative 4.0. This software has a big learning curve and there isn't many video's on Youtube about it. I have joined several Yahoo groups but I have enrolled in all of the classes where I purchased the machine but until then I have to learn and play on my way.

So this is what I was playing with this is a frame and I added an my initial in it. The first one my bobbin ran out and I didn't get it in right and this is what happen.

 

I don't sit at the table while it is stitching maybe I should have and I wouldn't have wasted all of my product.

This is the final product and I love it.

Happy Birthday to my mother in law

Hubby asked me to make his mother a card which I was happy to do since I have been doing this for a few yrs. I just did a simple card. Mommy loves humming birds so I cut one out with the Cameo

iClassygirl and Scraps of Color

 Today I am using this layout for iClassygirl and Scraps of Color. 
















This is what I came up with. I am not 100% on it but it is another challenge complete right.

 

The background paper is Studio Calico and I thought since the challenge on SOC is - My Black is Beautiful!  My Black is my HOOD!  City, suburbs, country, cornfields. It's either were you are or where you call home/grew up.  However, you define it is your 'hood.   This is about your neighborhood and where you live.  This challenge is about sharing your beautiful 'hood! 

The first picture is of my mother and sister and me. This is where my love of hats come from as a little girl I would get a hat and cherish it. The bottom picture is take in my grandmother's house which was my second home growing up. Oh how I miss my mother and grandmother.

 

I used the wood verner from Diane and put glossy accent on it but it buckled but it is okay and then I added a wood heart from Studio Calico and used red bic pen. The stickers are from Bo Bunny.

 

This piece was a scrap I had on a desk calendar last yr and instead of throwing it out I just re used it. I cut love cut out is from Lakisha on FaceBook. I received it in an order from her on the Scrap Yard.

Gypsy Challenge

I was watching a video tonight from She's a Sassy Lady Her challenge was to weld 3 pieces together to form some type of design and you will make a shadow. Well as usual I didn't pay full attention to the details so I will have to do another card tomorrow for her challenge. I haven't used my gypsy in in so long I forgot how to weld and it took me a little bit to get it together. One of my grand daughters (Sunny) will be turning 2 in a couple of weeks so this card will be perfect for her.

 

 I will be back tomorrow to do this challenge the right way
